Dear Members,
We are gearing up for our Term 2 Mini Kids Grading on Thursday. If you have a child grading this week, look out for a separate email about the mini kids grading coming to you soon. Class Changes This Week Due to the Mini Kids Grading there are a few class changes this Thursday: - There is no 3.30pm or 4.30pm class on Thursday. If you normally come at that time on a Thursday and are not grading, you are welcome to come and watch the grading and attend a class at the same time on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday this week instead. - The Thursday 5.30pm class will be slightly shorter this week starting at 5.45pm to allow for congestion to move after the grading. Hoodie Sale for Kids & Youths! This week only hoodies are $40 for kids and youth. Sale ends this Thursday! Holiday Timetable During the school holidays we run a reduced timetable to ensure better class numbers. The timetable doesn't start just yet - there is still another whole week of training to go until the school holidays. You can view our reduced timetable here. Have a great training week! Best wishes, Rachel Bates Centre Manager

Dear Members,
The National Championships in Tauranga are creeping up in the first weekend of July and we have a large team from Warrior heading down to represent Auckland North which is pretty exciting! Much much closer is our Term 2 Mini Kids Grading, which is next week on Thursday. Parents and kids - this is the very, very last week you can receive forms, and get them back to the office. If you're strapped for time you can also scan grading forms back to me via email (or take a picture and send to me). If you have questions for your child's instructor about the grading, make sure you ask before or after your child's lesson as our instructors are not here each day. For all of those who have already registered or register this week, we will send you a more detailed email early next week about the grading. Adult Defence Course We've had a few people asking about the 'Best Defence Course' coming up on 16 July at Henderson Intermediate. Some people have already met the course trainer, Phil Thompson, at last year's extremely successful Guardian Angel Course for kids. We have 4 adult Warrior students/parents already enrolled at this course and it is open to people who don't train in Taekwon-Do if that's holding you back. Register here Best wishes, Rachel Bates Centre Manager Dear Members,
The weather is getting colder, but don't let the chill deter you from your goals - keep coming along and keep improving! It's so important to keep exercising even when it's colder - as well as the fitness benefits, it also gets you out of the house (but you get to train indoors!) and fitness is proven to be beneficial for mental health during the rainy season. Get your Mini Kids books signed ahead of grading Mini Kids and their parents - it's time to do your mini kids homework in your white Mini Kids book and have it signed off by your instructor. This is compulsory before you can be approved to grade or receive a grading form. Mr Kevin Matsuoka is away on holiday for another week or so - but you can show your book to Miss Roisin Giles who is taking Mr Matsuoka's classes in his absence. Best Defence Course If you are 16 or over and serious about being able to defend yourself and deal with potentially dangerous and dangerous situations - this is a must attend course. It's also open to people who don't train in Taekwon-Do so if you are a parent or family member (or friend or whatever) this is open to you too, no martial arts skill or training required. The course content includes: recognising and understanding confrontation and violence, avoidance and awareness strategies, de-escalation, diffusion and skills to defend in real world situations. DO NOT expect this course to be a walk in the park - it's R16 for a reason. DO expect it to help equip you to defend yourself. The course is on 16 July at Henderson Intermediate and spaces are already filling up. Register here Be Fashion Forward That's right - the hottest fashion item for this winter is still a Warrior Taekwon-Do hoodie! :D These hoodies are super warm and have a neat new design this year. Most sizes are $55 and the largest two sizes are $65. Come and see us in the office to score yours. Have a great training week! Best wishes, Rachel Bates Centre Manager |
