This week we feature Warrior Kubz and preschool instructor, Miss Jacky Geurts in our newsletter.

Kids Aged 3-12
The Pee Wee Tournament is now a couple of weeks away. Make sure you register now so that we can give you your club badge to sew onto your dobok in time!
We've updated our article on how to get the most out of the Pee Wee Tournament:
Seven Ways to Maximise Your Pee Wee Tournament Experience
One context you will be familiar with for Taekwon-Do is gradings. Another is tournaments. The Pee Wee Tournament Series is for kids aged 12 and under and a great "first tournament" for kids new to tournaments. These events are extremely well run and held at Valley Rd School, Pukekohe.
Here are some tips to make the most out of your experience!
1. Enter All The Events
Pee Wee Tournaments give kids experience competing in the Taekwon-Do competition disciplines in a friendly, safe and fun environment. For just $20 your child can enter all the events - making it a great opportunity to give all the competition disciplines a go. The events available to enter are:

Visitors at 6.30pm Tuesday/Thursday and Special Guest
For the next month we will have Remuera Taekwon-Do Club visiting our Tuesday andThursday 6.30pm classes (as their own venue is unavailable). Please treat our visitors with the utmost courtesy and give them a warm Warrior welcome.
We also have a special guest this Thursday evening - Master Daher, 8th degree black belt from Australia will be taking the 6.30pm class. We are looking forward to what he has to share with us! All members who usually attend 5.30pm or 6.30pm classes are invited to come on Thursday to train with Master Daher.
Under 18s Tournament
A team of 10 young Warriors headed to Pukekohe on Saturday to compete in the Under 18s Tournament. All of the kids did extremely well and can be really proud of themselves for stepping out of their comfort zone and giving it their best shot. The official results are yet to be posted on ITKD but we have heard that Warrior Taekwon-Do came 4th in the medals table.
Have a great training week!
All the best to all the students grading at the colour belt grading this Thursday! Make sure you arrive by 6pm leaving plenty of time to find parking as we will be starting at 6pm sharp.
Because of the grading there are some class cancellations on Thursday night so please read this newsletter carefully to see what other classes you can attend this week instead.
Free Adults Course Kicks Offs
Last week was the first week of our free adult beginner's course. All of the participants (in the above photo) have worked really hard and have already learnt heaps in their first two sessions! We're looking forward to introducing them to more Taekwon-Do over the next couple of weeks, so please continue to make them feel welcome at classes.
Class Cancellations & Public Holidays
This week there is no 5.30pm or 6.30pm class on Thursday due to the grading - however, students who usually train at 5.30pm are welcome to come to a Monday, Tuesday orWednesday class, and students who usually train at 6.30pm are welcome to come to aMonday or Tuesday class instead.
Labour Weekend is nearly upon us between 25-27 October. There will be no Saturday class on the 25th and no Monday classes on the 27th. Enjoy your public holiday instead!
First Ever TKD Kubz Grading!
We are getting ready for the first Warrior TKD Kubz grading! If your child is a TKD Kubz kid (i.e. they have a uniform with pawprints on the sleeves and an orange belt) they may be eligible to grade on Monday 16 November at 3.30pm. More information and application forms will be distributed by Miss Jacky Geurts from today, with the cut-off for forms and payment to be received by the office being Monday 3 November.
Pee Wee Tournament Registrations
So far we have 7 young Warriors registered to compete in the Pee Wee Tournament being held in Pukekohe on 16 November, including two kids from Warrior Three Kings branch!
Don't forget to register so we can organise a club badge for you to wear to the tournament, which will be presented in class.
Have a great training week!
Welcome back to everyone who has been on holiday! We're looking forward to a great last quarter of 2014!
Today our full timetable resumes with all classes running as per normal, so please come to your correct class times.
Colour Belt Grading Next Week
Our final colour belt grading is now just over a week away and this week is the final week to get your forms and payment in. Your instructor will give you a form if they have approved you to grade, and you need to bring this form to the office with payment by or on Friday this week - no late forms will be accepted.
Remember you can come to Open Dojang on Saturdays and Sundays between 2-4pm to practice before the grading for free - you just need a keytag from the office one-off which is $5.
Kids 12 & Under!
We are taking a big team of kids from Warrior Taekwon-Do down to the final Pee Wee Tournament for this year in Pukekohe on 16 November 2014 and we'd like to invite YOU to come down with us! All kids who register for the tournament will receive a Warrior Taekwon-Do badge (if they don't already have one) which they can wear proudly on their uniform at the tournament.
The Pee Wee Tournament series is a well-run, fun event and a fantastic opportunity for kids to try their hand at tournaments for the first time (as well as for more seasoned kids to practice their skills). We will be doing some work on tournament skills in class across all branches of Warrior Taekwon-Do in the build up to the tournament so that kids have an idea of what to expect.
You need your ITKD registration number to enter for the event - if you can't find it just flick us an email and we will send it to you.

The organisers are asking for more officials to register, so if you are able to help out as a ring marshall, helper, time keeper or umpire please consider registering as an official.
