Dear Members, This week we feature Warrior instructor, Miss Roisin Giles in our newsletter (pictured to the right winning gold in patterns at the 2013 ITF World Championships). Staff Profile - Miss Roisin Giles Roisin Giles has been involved in martial arts for 11 years since the age of 9, and has experience instructing both ITF Taekwon-Do and Karate. She was part of the NZ team at the 2013 ITF World Championships, and is the current senior female 1st degree patterns world champion, as well as the 2014 Oceania sparring and power breaking champion. Miss Giles is also a competitive Olympic weightlifter. Miss Giles instructs on Monday and Wednesday evenings, is one of the Warrior Competition Club coaches on Friday nights and instructs our increasingly popular parent/child class on Saturday mornings. Interview with Mrs Robinson about "Camp Awesome" There's a lot of interest within our club about "Camp Awesome" - the Auckland North Regional Kids Camp being held from 10-12 October in Mangawhai. We interviewed Mrs Sonya Robinson who is organising the camp to find out exactly what you can expect - what the facility is like, what kinds of activities there are, who can attend, and very importantly - how good the food is! (Very good, we hear)! Click here to read the full interview, and if you want to join the other Warrior kids who already signed up last week, download the application form or grab one off the Warrior noticeboard as spaces are filling up. Remember that the form and payment then needs to be sent to the organisers (not the Warrior Taekwon-Do office). Colour Belt Grading Date Change Due to a double booking the colour belt grading date has been changed from Wednesday 22 October to Thursday 23 October. Please mark the change in your diaries. The information regarding pre-gradings and cut-off dates remains the same. The mini kids grading dates and information are unchanged. Reset the Mats! The Warrior Training Zone mats we train on need to be reset, which means ripping them up and putting them back together! We'll be getting down to it on Saturday (6 September) at10.30am and would love some help! No experience is required - you don't need to know anything about Taekwon-Do (parents are welcome to come and help too). Many hands make light work, so the more the merrier. If you're able to come, please let us know by clicking "attending" on the Facebook event or drop us an email. We really appreciate your help! Have a great training week! Best wishes, Rachel Bates Manager
