Dear Members, We've got a large number of candidates from our 3 Warrior branches that have been put forward for the colour belt grading this week and we wish them all the best! If you are ranked: - white belt to grade to yellow stripe - yellow stripe to grade to yellow belt - yellow belt to grade to green stripe - green stripe to green belt you will have received or will be receiving today an invitation to grade at the earlier time of5.30pm. If you wish to take this up, however you MUST contact the office by email to confirm today. If you are not grading this time round, don't be disheartened - it's really not a race to get through the belts. Occasionally I am asked "how long does it take for the average person to get to black belt?" And the answer is that the average person doesn't become a black belt. The average person doesn't even become a red belt, or a blue belt, or a green belt, or a yellow belt because the average person gives up before they reach their goals. Keep persevering, and you will achieve your goals. Class Changes & Cancellations This Thursday Due to the gradings this week: - The Thursday 4.30pm class will take place in the back half of the dojang and run for 45 minutes. - The Thursday 5.30pm and 6.30pm class is CANCELLED. You are welcome to attend a5.30pm class or 6.30pm class on a different day this week instead. 5.30pm classes are available Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and 6.30pm on Monday and Tuesday. Under 18s Tournament We'd like to congratulate Mischke & Leighton Hendricks (pictured above) who came away with 5 medals in total at the second in the Under 18 Tournament Series in Palmerston North in the weekend. They both won gold in their patterns divisions and silver in their sparring divisions, with Leighton also picking up a silver in specialty. The final tournament in the under 18s series will be in Auckland and in November - so if you're under 18 and keen to get involved in this tournament it's something you can be working towards. Auckland North Kids Camp The Auckland North Kids Camp is nearly full already - so if you were planning to register your child make sure you do it this week or you might miss out. The entry close date is officially the 31st of August, but the camp is likely to fill up before then. Register here Warrior Family Members - Free TKD Course!
