Warrior Taekwon-Do News: 13 April

Dear Members,

We are still buzzing from an amazing day yesterday at our Fun Day Tournament! Thank you so much to all the competitors, parents, marshals, officials, helpers who supported and contributed to the event.

We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did and that you have gained some confidence and experience to attend other similar events in the future such as the Auckland North Regional Tournament.

A Road Code book went astray at the tournament, so if you picked it up with your things by accident please return it to the office.

Auckland North Regional Tournament - 10 May
The next big tournament on the calendar is the Auckland North Regional Tournament, where you enter as a representative of your club and compete against other clubs in the Auckland North region. This tournament is being held very close by to us at the AMI Netball Centre in St Johns and is open to all ages. It's a very special experience when you compete together as a club, with everyone supporting, cheering and looking out for each other and helping make the day happen so if you're not competing we'd love you to come and support the Warrior team on the day or even get involved as a marshal/helper.

There are two very cool team events that are available at the tournament, being team patterns and pre-arranged sparring. If you're putting together a team pattern team or a pre-arranged sparring team, we are happy to make space available for you to come and practice as a team in the lead up.

• Come to Auckland North Regional training on Sundays, 9.30-11am - bring $5 each session (non-compulsory)

New Warrior Taekwon-Do Sweatshirts! 
Orders Must Be Received by Friday


We've got a very cool new design in time for the Auckland North Regional Tournament! The back of the sweatshirt has the tenets of Taekwon-Do and you can personalise your sweatshirt by choosing a name (first name, last name, nickname) to be printed on the back.

We need orders in by 4:30pm on Friday this week. If you miss the deadline we will do another order later, but the idea is to have some cool new sweatshirts for those that want them that are entering the regional tournament (although orders are not restricted to those entering the tournament), and this order is expected to arrive the week before the tournament. We are hoping the sample sizes for you to try on will arrive for Tuesday. Youth sizes are $45 and adult sizes are $55.

Upcoming Colour Belt Grading
Our first colour belt grading for 2015 is on Thursday 30 April - just two and a half weeks away. If you are hoping to grade in this round, make sure you are working hard on your techniques. Remember you can come and do self-directed practice on weekends between 2-4pm at the dojang for free as a Warrior member. 

Next week your instructors will be making their final assessments on whether to put you forward to grade, so if you have an exceptional reason for missing a class next week, make sure you let your instructor know in advance (as you should normally do as a courtesy anyway).
