Dear Members,
Term 2 Mini Kids Grading Coming Up Very Soon! We're getting ready for our Term 2 Mini Kids Grading! This grading is for kids who are using the Mini Kids Handbook (but excludes kids who are grading for FIRST YELLOW or YELLOW BELT - these are national gradings conducted at Colour Belt gradings). Instructors will be assessing your child's readiness to grade during class from this week up until the cut-off date of Friday next week for grading forms to be received by the office. One of the requirements for grading is for homework to be signed off by their instructor - so please make sure your child completes their homework page for their next rank and BRINGS IT TO CLASS to be signed off well in advance of the cut-off date - this week if possible. Attitude and attendance are also factors taken into consideration alongside Taekwon-Do techniques and skills so make sure you let your instructor know if you have an exceptional reason for not being at class. If you have questions about your child's progress please direct to your child's instructor. Mini Kids Grading Who For: Children on the Mini Kids syllabus (who use the A4 sized Mini Kids Handbook syllabus) grading for first green, first blue, first red, first black, double yellow or triple yellow stripe (ask your instructor if you are not sure if this is you) Mini Kids Grading Date: Thursday 25 June, 4pm at 198 Marua Rd, Ellerslie Pre-Grading Assessments: During June until the cut-off Cut-off for forms and payment to be received: Friday 19 June Parents interested in helping their kids prepare for the grading can pick up tips and examples of techniques required at each level of the Mini Kids syllabus here. Colour Belt Grading Date For those interested in grading at the next Colour Belt Grading, our next grading is scheduled for 13 August - so if you are aiming to grade in the next round you should be starting your preparation to make sure you have your techniques, skills and knowledge ready come August. New yellow belts from our last round as well as higher ranked belts can find some great coaching points on Dan-Gun from Master McPhail here. Best wishes, Rachel Bates
