Dear Members,
First Gradings for 2014 Our first Mini Kids Grading and Colour Belt Grading for the year will both be held on 17 April 2014 at Warrior Training Zone. The cut off for final registration and payment is 15 April, and the only change this year is that grading fees for both types of grading may be paid only by cash or bank deposit upon invoice (please do not make any deposits unless you have an invoice number). This week detailed information will be given out to members in class to take home relating to their grading. Mini Kids Grading This grading is for children who are on the Mini Kids Syllabus and are working towards having four stripes on their white belt. These children have an A4 sized white Mini Kids Handbook and part of the requirement to be eligible for the grading is to complete the relevant homework page in their book and have it signed off by their instructor. Prerequisites for the grading include having an up to date ITKD registration and a dobok (uniform). The grading is held in the afternoon from 3.15pm. This week mini kids student will be given a letter with information about the grading and an application form, both on one A4 sized sheet of paper. Mini Kids Grading Quick Details: Grading - Thursday 17 April from 3.15pm at Warrior Training Zone Fill in application and get book and form signed by instructor - between now and 15 April Last day for form and payment to be received by office - Tuesday 15 April Colour Belt Grading This grading is for children who have finished the Mini Kids Syllabus (i.e. they have green, blue, red and black stripes on their belt), older children, teenagers and adults. These students have an A5 blue and white techniques handbook and their grading is held in the evening. There are prerequisites that must be met to be eligible for the grading, including having an up to date ITKD registration and attending a mock grading called a Pre-Grading session. There are two days of Pre-Grading sessions and you need only attend one session at the time you normally train at. If you do not normally train on the days set aside for Pre-Grading you must arrange to attend the appropriate session time on one of those days (there are no costs to attend Pre-Grading). This week colour belt students will be given two A4 sized sheets of paper in class: a letter with information and a colour belt grading application form. Colour Belt Grading Quick Details Grading - Thursday 17 April, arrive 6pm to warm up and 6.30pm start Compulsory Pre-Grading: Monday 31 March and Tuesday 1 April - must bring your completed colour belt application form and hand to the instructor before your Pre-Grading begins Last day for form and payment to be received by office - Tuesday 15 April More details about both of these gradings will be in the handouts going out to our membership this week. Have a great training week! Best wishes, The Warrior Taekwon-Do Team
