WTKD News: 16 December

Dear Members,

What a big year! We've run over 1,000 classes, had four kids gradings, four colour belt gradings and two school holiday programmes.  We've had members promoted to black belt, been to specialist seminars, workshops and courses, sent members to Under 18s Tournaments, the Auckland Regional Tournament (where we won Best Overall Club), the National Tournament and the World Championships and more! This is our final training week for the year and we'd like to invite you all to join with us in celebrating another great year of Taekwon-Do this Saturday (please see details below). 

Warrior Taekwon-Do 2013 Closing & 2014 Opening Dates
The last training for 2013 is on Saturday 21 December, which is the same day as our end of year BBQ event (see below for more details). 

We open again on Monday 6 January and will be running one combined class Mon-Thu at 5.30pm with world champion Miss. Roisin Giles through January - just turn up to class! Our full, normal timetable will resume from 3 February 2014.

We have two new blue streams starting next year - Monday 5.30pm and Wednesday 5.30pm.  If you would like to change your child's class enrolment day/time for 2014, please fill in the online class transfer form.

End of Year Combined Christmas BBQ - Warrior Taekwon-Do and Remuera Taekwon-Do - 21 December from 4.30pm
Join us for a casual and fun BBQ to celebrate the end of another awesome year of Taekwon-Do! Lots of hard training, gradings, tournaments and fantastic achievements to celebrate. This is a family event so kids please bring your parents and parents please bring your kids!

This is a great opportunity to meet other Taekwon-Do enthusiasts from both Warrior Taekwon-Do and Remuera Taekwon-Do Club of all ages, as well as to mix and mingle with your training friends from your own class.

We ask that everyone please bring a plate of food to share (either something for the BBQ or a salad or a drink). Some food will also be provided by the clubs as well as some entertainment.

Term 4 Kids Grading
The final kids grading for 2013 is finally upon us! The cut-off for applications and payment to be received by the office is this Tuesday, and the grading itself is on Thursday at Warrior Training Zone.  Please arrive at 3.15pm and don't forget to bring a plate for the after grading celebration.  All the best kids grading candidates!

No Thursday Yellow (3.30pm) and Green (4.30pm) Stream This Week
This is due to the kids grading.  Parents of kids who normally train at these times may contact the office in advance to arrange an alternative day/time to train this week.  All kids who are not grading are very welcome to come to watch the grading to support their classmates.

Summer Holiday Taekwon-Do & Childcare
Taekwon-Do & Childcare is available for school aged children ages 5+ only during the pre Christmas and post New Year holidays. Parents can select from half day and full day childcare options. There will be one morning and one afternoon Taekwon-Do session, as well as a wide variety of activities to keep kids happy, learning and active throughout the day. This programme is designed especially for parents who are working while their kids are on school holiday.  For further information and for the online application form please go here. 

Athlete Posters
We currently have some awesome limited edition ITKD Athlete Series posters, only $5 each. These large laminated posters would make a great stocking stuffer, or source of inspiration on someone's bedroom wall! World class athletes included are: Carl Van Roon, Mark Trotter, Luke Thompson and Carolina Dillen.  These are available in the office.
