Dear Members,
Wow, what a weekend!!! Congratulations to everyone who competed yesterday at the Auckland North Regional Tournament. It was truly inspiring to see everyone giving it a go, supporting their clubmates and encouraging each other - that's what it's all about. A special mention to the parents, family and friends who came along to support and cheer, to all of our staff who were involved with officiating at the tournament to help make it run or encouraging and coaching students! There was a great team spirit and Warrior can be really proud of itself. Warrior had some awesome results which we will post when they are officially up, but in the meantime, congratulations to Reimana Robinson, who won Best Overall Green Belt at the tournament with three gold medals across patterns, sparring and power. To catch up on all the action from the weekend, check out all the photos in our facebook album. Practice Time & Space at Warrior! Wondering where to do some extra practice for gradings and tournaments? We are opening the dojang for an open dojang session on Wednesday nights at 6.30pm-7.30pm starting from this week. There will be a supervising instructor and the Wednesday open dojang is free for all Warrior members of all ages. All young children need to be supervised by a parent/caregiver unless with prior permission. Upcoming Tournaments Wondering what's next on the tournament schedule? There are quite a few tournaments on the ITKD calendar which cover a wide range of levels and ages: Round Robin Fundraiser - 21 June in Palmerston North Oceania Championships - 5 July in Rarotonga Pee Wee Tournament - 20 July in Pukekohe National Tournament - 26-27 July in Tauranga World Cup - 26-30 August in Jamaica Under 18s Tournament 2 - 25 October in Pukekohe We would encourage all students who attend 3.30pm and 4.30pm classes and any other students who are under 12 to book the 20th of July in for the Pee Wee Tournament in Pukekohe. Anyone interested in going to the National Tournament should be going along to Auckland North Regional trainings, which continue on Sundays from 9.30-11am at 198 Marua Rd. Special Training Seminars We are very lucky to have Master Mark Hutton visiting from Scotland in June. Master Hutton is doing three seminars in Auckland: Seminar 1 Sunday 8 June - $20 9am-11.30am 198 Marua Rd Open to all Register on-line here Seminar 2 Sunday 8 June - $20 1-3.30pm 198 Marua Rd Blue belts and above (and especially athletes who attend High Performance (HP) sessions) Register on-line here Seminar 3 Thursday 12 June - $20 6.30-8.30pm Papatoetoe High School, Carlie St, Papatoetoe Open to all (and especially athletes who attend HP sessions) There's no need to register for this one - you can just turn up as long as you are a registered member with International Taekwon-Do. Technical seminars from visiting experts are a great way to stretch and grow in your Taekwon-Do technique - we encourage you to check out at least one of the seminars, especially if you attend a 5.30pm or 6.30pm class. Have a great training week! Best wishes, The Warrior Taekwon-Do Team
